You're asking for trouble, aren't you? Respect board rules and common sense, and your negative karma will stop increasing. Contribute to the project one way or the other, and your overall karma record will improve. However, don't start a meta discussion about karma here!
Instead, you should have posted something like "I have read the docs now, my initial question has been solved. Sorry for asking the obvious". Notice the difference between your posting in an ideal world and the one you actually submitted? ::)
