Categories' general question/conclusion
« on: March 29, 2006, 01:46:26 am »

Hi dudes, ;-)

I have a little question. So, I realized that:

1. Users can't create albums outside the special user galleries category (in main categories for example);
2. Administrator can't create sub-category in the special user galleries category;
3. Users can't create category at all;
4. Permission settings by category are being considered for future versions;
5. The properties Visitors can upload files of album from any main category give the only possibility for users (with Public albums upload allowed group permission) to upload files in this album (created in advance from administrator only).

If the above mentioned is true how somebody could prepare categories where the registered users (with Personal gallery allowed) could create his own albums (public/private) ?
If there are no way to do that this categories work with half-way policy...

Thanks in advance and congratulations for great job :)

off-topic: Where I can send the bulgarian translation for v1.50 when I finish it?

assumptions 1 to 5 are all correct.

When allowing users to have personal galleries, the user can create albums within his personal gallery by clicking on "create/order my albums".

Language contributions go into the thread [Help wanted]: Translations for CPG1.4.x

Hi again,
...

...
"within his personal gallery" and no way to do that within any category :( what a pity. So, I cannot realize the role of categories?!

Language contributions go into the thread [Help wanted]: Translations for CPG1.4.x
... and v1.50 translation is like 1.4.x - OK 65% Completed...

Cheers

There is no point in creating translations for cpg1.5.x yet, as the english language file in cpg1.5.x (devel branch of the cvs) is subject to changes. Please post your cpg1.4.x translation and everything related to it on the thread I refered to.

OK man, calm down ;-) , it's enough clear, I'll be there when finish it 100%

The only way, which I found, to give the users possibility to create in any Category his own album (outside of his personal gallery) was to write one script which creates the album according to user's auto-order performed on behalf of administrator (with direct MySQL request), but this is a little bit clumsy and it's not possible to remove/edit (like user) this album... I saw that in cpgNG this problem will be solved and in 1.50 too I hope ;-)

I'm not upset, so there's no need to calm down ;). We welcome translations, so why don't you do as suggested and translate your language for cpg1.4.x
