XP upload Question
« on: September 09, 2004, 12:09:15 am »

Hi I have just added SP2 update to my Windows XP
I am now missing a step out when I upload files using the publish feature. I used to get a window that asked me what size files that I wanted to upload eg 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 which was very handy. Do you Know any way to get this back or is it a new feature of SP2?

did you redownload the reg key to "update" your registry setting for xp Publisher? I haven't upgraded to sp2 yet so I wouldn't think they would take away pic resize, because it should be integrated into the picture uploader. Will test this week though.

I had just installed SP2 onto my WinXP
and the winXP wizard works fine
even without redownloading the reg key

however one of my user complained of this same problem as you as well

If this is the case it could be corrupted either during the install of sp2 or of a hotfix - try redownloading the xp publisher to reset your settings or see if m$ has released any patches for picture management.

I know on my SP1 machine, the picture resize wizard is not a part of XP normally. I had to get the MS Powertoy in order to add that functionality. However, I don't see any reason why that particular powertoy would be removed just by adding SP2. I think skybax's suggestion is the best so far. You could go so far as to remove the actual reg key and re-download the reg key from your xp-publish.php file.

I recently updated to sp2, and although I have other issues with it, this is not one.  I always had the resize option, and still do.
