Batch Uploading via FTP
« on: June 14, 2007, 03:36:26 pm »

Greetings,

The Copperine documentation for 1.4.10 states "It is recommended that the coppermine admin use ftp to upload multiple pics/files at a time. Use your ftp software to create sub-folders within your_coppermine_directory/albums/, where your ftp uploads can be saved".

Assuming one does not have a large amount of files to upload, is this still recommended? And if so, why?

Thank you,

Lyman

FTP upload for admins is recommended because then you can keep the folder structure on the FTP side in synch with the album structure in cpg.
If you upload through the site the pictures are dumped into one folder making it into a mess if you keep this up for a long time. At least that's why i always try upload with ftp. Keeps it all nice and clean.
