Coppermine - phpbb board: charing database?
« on: May 28, 2007, 01:00:40 pm »

Situation today: I have a board (phpbb) that I'm about to move to another host/server. At this same host/server I am at this moment installing your gallery.

Wanted situation tomorrow: Board and gallery bridged together.

The host offers me the choise of my own regarding database, but what do you advice me to? Set the two up with the same database - or run them on separat databases.

(PS: I understand the two installation needs to be installed separatly, and completely running, before bridging. Only want to know the adviced way to handle the database.)

Sharing a database is more efficient. Separate databases are more secure and maybe more practical.

Ok, thank you, Nibbler. Based on that - separate it will be. ;)
