Okay.
-I have searched the archives
-folder permissions are all 755
-I have set debug mode
-I have set group permissions to 1/0 as per various documentation
-the "define ( 'SILLY_SAFE_MODE' , 1 ) ;" is there in config.inc.php
-GDlib 2 is installed, and HAS BEEN RECOMPILED as per my request by hosting company due to problems
-everything worked before (uploading, recognizing files, generating thumbnails, inserting into folder)
What's happening is this. I upload 1 file, and I get:
---
The file you have uploaded is not a valid image !
File: /home/kaiyen2/public_html/photos/coppermine/db_input.php - Line: 370
---
If I do a batch upload, all of the new files in that folder show up as "unknown" and I get a DP when I try to insert them. Again, folder permissions are set appropriately. I have tried this from an existing folder that has worked before and a new one I created when FTP'ing the files in.
If I click on one of the "unknown" icons, it shows me the full image, all there, as a jpeg, looking all fine. So the file is there, and has apparently transferred properly. But coppermine is not recognizing the file.
IMPORTANT: the failure to recognize the file type is specific, as far as I can tell, to coppermine, but I am also have a thumbnail generation issue with pixelpost, a photoblog software that is also configured to use GD. Now, there, it indicates that GD is installed, working, and with JPEG support, but thumbnails are not working. This is possibly related to what's going on at least partially in coppermine (I mean, thumbnails are not generating in the batch upload view), but the invalid file format issue is confusing.
I'm not sure which debug window to paste in here. But the site is at photos.kaiyen.com/coppermine and the user is test/t3st.
Thank you for any help. I tried to follow all the directions for posting, and I deeply, deeply apologize if I missed something. I tried, I really did.
