Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' - upgrade 4.3 -> 4.10

Hi there - I've had a search on the boards for this but couldn't find it.

Being somewhat simpleminded I tried to upgrade from 4.3 -> 4.9 via fantastico (yes, yes, a bad idea...) which (surprise surprise!) didn't work and neither did my attempt to reinstall my backup. I just ended up with a completely blank index page.

I've now tried to install 4.10 manually and have this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/mysite/public_html/photo/include/functions.inc.php on line 2960

Can any of you good people help me?

Upload the file again, the message means the file is corrupted.

Yep, that seems to have worked great  :D

seem to have lost a few thumbnails in the process but that's OK. Many thanks for yr swift input!
