Bridging side effects
« on: May 09, 2006, 11:40:13 pm »

Hi,

I bridged Coppermine with phpbb. I followed the directions given on how to do it and it worked perfeclty, with only two side effects.

The first is that users who were on the phpbb before I made the bridge did not have access to upload images. (The upload link wouldn't appear.)

The second is that I can't give anyone ability to post to public galleries (or perhaps I can't make public galleries.) Either way I can't get public galleries to work. I spent a fair amount of time playing with both problems. I was able to work around problem 1, but it wasn't pretty. Problem 2 still eludes me and right now everyone is uploading images to their private galleries.

The work around to the problem in case anyone else has had this problem is to create a new group and make the users who can't upload members of that new group. Make sure you set the permsissions for the new group and allow them to upload.

As for the second I'm still at a loss.

Thanks,
Dave
