Safari strangeness
« on: December 26, 2003, 09:37:07 pm »

Having a bit of trouble with coppermine 1.2.1...
Safari (1.1 v100) seems to need a refresh every page to fully work out if you're logged in, or indeed who you're logged in as.
I had this prob with 1.1d and fully updated, including clearing all the sql data and re-adding my images.
MSIE mac & mozilla don't seem to mind.
I presume this is some kind of over-cacheing issue. Looks like safari is presuming that since it's at the same url it was at, the php doesn't need rebuilding as html. or something.
So if the head of every php page contains some kind of instruction to safari to re-build the page from the script each time, that may fix it... A simple refresh at the head of the page would work, but it'd be always reloading the images.
any easy fix?

continue button

in addition to the above, i've discovered that, from a fresh empty cache, if you login/logout making sure you hit the 'continue' button instead of waiting to be shunted there anyway, login/logout seems to work, at least if 'continue' is *always* clicked.... Perhaps safari only re-compiles the html from the php script if a button is clicked. I'm going to remove the auto-continue from my gallery and see what happens...

...looks like it, anyway. At least the above prob doesn't affect normal browsing of a gallery.

Never mind. I just thought i'd also say that when opening a popup window to display the fullsize image, the safari title/button/tab bar offsets the window a little, and you alway have to resize the window py approx. 100x150pixels to see it neatly.

(rocks to and fro clawing at screen) when can we have even a quick fix of code posted to make safri refresh all cpg page code every time? wheeeeen?
