mod_rewrite
« on: November 22, 2005, 10:56:38 am »

I think a mod for better shorter URLs using mod_rewrite is very essential if we want our albums turning up on google. i have searched the forum for such a mod but the topics date back to 2003. hopefully someone can release a mod for this feature.

There is a plugin available that does this for 1.4. It will not be going into the core code.

The SEF url plugin for cpg1.4.x is still experimental though, I wouldn't use it on a live site.

i recently installed 4.1.2 and i love it....i installed the SEF plugin and as mentioned in this thread

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=20004.0

the plugin fails when a variable is passed on to it, so it can't display more than one page! the plugin is so close to being a finished product but yet not there!

I hope one of the developers has time to look at this plugin and fix it   :( or at least give this amateur php programmer a head start on how to fix it  ::)
