Hi all

im using

CPG : 1.3.4
Linux


Ive made more than 700 albums & appx. 10000 pics & media files in coppermine & by fault ve set  intermediate picture to 1500 pixels ,

Now i want to resize them to 400 but i t is very difficult job to resize 700 albums in coppermine one by one.

Does any body have solution to Resize whole categories in intermediate pics of 400 pixels

Please help

in the (better) admintools: set 'Select album' to 'All pics'... done... now have a coffee and wait for coppermine to finish

ive not found in admin tools any where the word in step 3 i.e. select album containing option of All pics

i wan to resize them to 400 pixels

That's what Stramm was suggesting: he posted a link to a mod that he created that has the feature you're looking for. So yes, you'll have to install his mod to have the feature. Maybe you haven't chosen your nickname "CPG Guru" that wisely...

However, the unmodded version of coppermine can batch-resize the intermediate pics that reside in an album, so you already have a tool that can accomplish something along the lines: you just can't mass-resize by category, but only by album. Shouldn't be too hard to accomplish without modifying coppermine imo, as it's only 700 albums - you might want to review your overall coppermine structure: having only 10.000 pics in 700 albums means that you have only an average of 15 pics per album - this is navigation overkill if you ask me...
On my personal gallery, I currently have 11.000+ pics in 237 albums, which means that each album has an average of 46 pics, which is a much healthier ratio if you ask me.

Dear GAU

The reson for 10000 images  in 700 albums is not the complete , actually im having


1) more than 16000 wallpapers in all categories widely known

2) More than 27000 Mobile logos/ backrounds

3) More than 35000 Ringtones

4) And offcourse more than  1200 small video clips to upload in these 700 albums & i think it i'll increase

to 1000 albums in coming month

Hope fully this will be the largest collection on coppermine in terms of stuff, not users

Dear stramm

Thanks for ur mod ive replaced all my files in 400 pixls

It normally converts 700 pics in 1 hour into thumb, mini, & normal mode

If possible u can try for specific categories or albums conversion with checkbox option that'll also helpful

nice idea.. but can become messy especially if one has so many albums as you have

the execution time depends on the number of images you process in one batch, your OS, if you're using ImageMagick or GD and the extras (thumb sharpening, watermarking, original resize, minithumbs)

on my lil production server (it has a permanent CPU usage of ~50% --> load avarage of 1-5, FreeBSD, ImageMagick, single CPU Intel 1.7 I guess it was) it's doing 1000 pics/ h (normal+full, resize and watermark)... so it's pretty cool and saves you a lot of dumb sitting in front of the computer, hehehe
