Switched hosts
« on: May 21, 2005, 01:30:01 am »

I just switched and am moving all my files and stuff. Just went thru the gruelling process of dloading all 1.7gb of my pics, and re-uploaded them. Am trying to get the dbs up and running. I have them created on the new host, what other changes do I need to make and to what files ? It is giving me an error saying my user is not the same, and password. Where do I go to change that stuff ?

Also, I changed the config.ini file to include the new db name and password. However, now it wont view some pics. Like all of the pics of my most active user, dont view. I found them on the server, and they are there, I think :| but cpg wont view them. Plus a few other pics wont view. Help PLZ! :(

Export your old Coppermine database tables using phpMyAdmin.
Move the entire Coppermine directory to your new host.
Create a new Coppermine database with the same name, same username, and same password as the old one.
Import your Coppermine database tables using phpMyAdmin.
If the URL to your gallery isn't the same, change that value in the ecards_more_pic_target field in your config table.
If you changed the database name, MySQL connection info, etc, then make the appropriate changes to your config.inc.php file.

I did most of that, and I got most of the stuff to work, most of the pics are viewable. It is just a specific amount of pics that are showing as X's. I dont know how to get them back. Help.

For the most part, the full size images are there, but the normal_ and thumb_ are the ones that are missing.

First off, don't expect an answer that quickly.

Second, so far the broken images are ones with %2520 in the name, like this:
albums/userpics/10154/thumb_mini-Digi%2520Cam%2520063.jpg
albums/userpics/10153/thumb_normal_mardi%2520gras%2520008.jpg

You need to verify what your picture names actually are, and you might have to use phpMyAdmin to edit the pictures table to fix whatever images are broken.

Ok 1, how on earth did you get that info,
Quote
albums/userpics/10154/thumb_mini-Digi%2520Cam%2520063.jpg
albums/userpics/10153/thumb_normal_mardi%2520gras%2520008.jpg
like how did you find out the number of the folder in Userpics, I have recognized that is one of the problems, but about the other ones, like http://www.fiwishop.com/cpg/cpg1/displayimage.php?album=397&pos=1 for example, and http://www.fiwishop.com/cpg/cpg1/displayimage.php?album=397&pos=0 those dont display at all. Can you find out what userpics folder that persons info pics are in for me please.

Ok, I have realised that some of the pics are not there. I guess my ftp client does not show all the files in the user directory. It stops at 1998, and this user has 3994 actual pics. How do I actually zip the images ? and dload the zip file.

My advice: get a better FTP client.  Plenty available with a 30 day fully functional trial; find one and then buy it.  FTP Voyager, SmartFTP, TurboFTP = good clients IMO.

I was using Flash FXP which I have used for many years. It seems to be good, but I guess not in this case :|

Ok, I tried turbo ftp, nice program. It gives me the same amount of files, 1998. Does coppermine move pictures to another directory or somewhere else on the server when it passes 1998 per user ? Because there are no thumb_ or normal_ pics.

Well, I figured out that it was my stupid gay ass host that didnt allow more than 1998 files to be listed. That is very annoying. DO NOT use Sonet7 anyone. In any case, how do I zip all the pics so I can dload one big file ?

Use the My Favorites feature from Coppermine, then download as a zip file.
