Upgrade from 1.2.1 to 1.3.2
« on: September 06, 2004, 09:42:52 pm »

Is there a way to upgrade from Coppermine 1.2.1 to 1.3.2 without losing all the layout changes and mods I've added to our current site?

Thanks in advance,

John

Your data will be safe.  Your mods may not work.  Your layout changes may not work.  Back everything up before upgrading.

you will have to modify your theme (which is suppossed to have all cosmetical changes in it), see http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/demo/docs/theme.htm

what are the chances of losing files & data after upgrading, without back up?
I'm asking this because I connect via 56k modem and it will take a long time to back up...
thanks in advance!

Providing you backup your include/config.inc.php and the include/install.lock, you should be ok, but there is always a chance of a cock-up.

Make sure you create a folder 'edit' within the albums folder, and chmod it to the same permissions as the album folder.  Then make sure you do not overwrite the albums folder.
