How to get the pics back when deleted from albums/userpics
« on: August 30, 2004, 12:12:13 pm »

Hi !

First of all, contratulations for this great piece of work, I discovered it yesterday !

I've got a little question : I noticed that the pics were stored in the albums/userpics folder.
But what can I do if this folder got erased ? I tried to remove the .jpg files, but the gallery didn't work properly after that. How to get things working again (rebuild the files from the SQL database) ?

Thanks in advance !

If the userpics directory was erased, the only thing you can do is recreate it via FTP or your control panel and upload the images again.  The files aren't stored in the db, so you can't rebuild the files like you suggested.

You can always ask your host to restore your site to an earlier version, if they do weekly backups.

Oh, stupid me ! I saw the file size in the cpg132_pictures table, but that wasn't the record size ! Thanks for the answer, you can close this topic (and/or mark it as solved...).

bye
