Thumbnail as 'key frame' for a video file?

It would be great if I can have the option to upload a photo that should appears as a thumbnail instead of the generic mpeg or wmv icon that currently represents an uploaded video file.

That functionality already exists.  Read the documentation that comes with 1.3.2.  Specifically, read section 4.9.
