What documentation? The documentation at the top of the page makes no mention of it   Any ideas on how to do this?

It does, both the link on this page, and the docs in the download.
See http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#config_album_list, and look at 'Content of main page'.
Simply add or remove the ones you do not want.

Edit this line in de config (adminmode):

breadcrumb/catlist/alblist/random,2/lastup,2

If you edit like this: breadcrumb/catlist/alblist/lastup,1

it only shows the last uploads.

Just to clarify, the numbers are only required after the meta albums, if you want more than 1 line of thumbnails, so there is never a need for a ',1'.  Having /random means 1 line of thumbs from the random directory, whereas /random,3 means 3 rows of thumbs.

This has been asked and answered many many times, locking this thread.
