Multi-groups for one album.
« on: July 20, 2004, 10:23:34 pm »

I'm sure this has been asked before but have been unable to find much on the subject. I would like to have two groups be able to view an album but none others. Any way to do this besides making all the members of Group A a member of Group B?

create group "C" and make all members of groups "A" and "B" members of group "C" as well. Then, set the album to be visible for members of group "C". User can be members of more than one group.

What if member groups in gallery are defined by forum over bridge and forum let's you mark one user in only one group? Then you can't create group C to make more groups to see one album can you.

The only support I found was here. It would require an extra table, unique coding and a lot of patience if you find something that works, post it. Other than that I wouldn't have a solution of bridging the groups across a forum to the gallery. Unless you are still using the user database for coppermine (i.e. running two user databases one for gallery one for forum...) then you could specifically adjust a users settings... but that means more overhead and upkeep.
