Lost parts of the Configuration Page
« on: August 16, 2004, 09:50:38 am »

Hello,
when I go to the configuration page, it will not be displayed completely. It will only show the topics above ' Number of rows on thumbnail page', but not the ones beneath or the 'Save new settings' button.
Do you have any idea what's going wrong here?

Greets,
Roland

Did you recently upgrade from the CVS version?
Try running update.php - this usually happens when one of the config value rows is missing from the database...

Thanks for the fast reply. I upgraded from version 1.2.x some time ago, but the gallery worked ok after that and I'm sure I already used the configuration page since then. I ran update.php again, but the configuration page still is as before.

did you make sure to upload your language file from the new package as well? Only entries that are in the language file can be displayed. You could as well try setting english as temporary language (add &lang=english to the url) and access the config page then: if you can see the full config page then, your language file (french.php I guess) is outdated or corrupt.

Right now, the language of the gallery is english. When I try to add &lang=xxx (english or german or whatever) I get a Page not found.

I wasn't able to find your lang folder, I looked for it here: http://sm18.funpic.de/roland_deschain/fottergrafs/lang/
Where is it?

It is here:

Where did you get the url with sm18.funpic.de from?

I just tried something. I uploaded the lang folder from the old 1.2.1 installation file and now the gallery works fine and the configuration page is complete in the english and in the german version. Is it possible that something went wrong during the update and I'm still running 1.2.1?
On the other hand, the config-page says I'm using Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.3.1.  ???

the version number is being hard-coded into include/init.inc.php. The configuration page will display whatever version init.inc.php is. If you use cvpg1.2.1 files with cpg1.3.x (a mish-mash), you will surely run into problems, if not now, then later. You will for example not have the features that have been introduced in cpg1.3.

Take a look at the thread http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=8967.msg40182#msg40182 and get the tool described there to test what versions you are running and report back.

It seem like I have a mish-mash of the to versions. That explains why I didn't notice any major changes after upgrading. So I'll have to udate to the new version again and see what happens.
