Any help appreciated.

Made the unforgiveable error of not saving setting that were working.

current setup is that I have a main category medical and a sub-category X-Ray in X-ray I have albums.

When I select the X-ray category want to see the albums listed, at present I can specify, random, lastup, etc but I cannot find the option to list the albums.

Please any advise.  I really truly have tried to find it in other posts but only find the usual breadcrumb/catlist/ablist/xxxxxx/xxxxx

Make sure you are using alblist, not ablist.

Thank you very much nibbler.  I was indeed typing in ablist rather than alblist.  Stupid mistake, but I did learn a few things trying to figure it out.
