Include Images from other websites
« on: February 02, 2004, 03:53:35 pm »

I'm really happy to use the coppermine gallery, and i have not a bit of php knowledge, but i've the following request. If this has just been disgussed, you can delete this post ...

Could it be possible to link to images from other websites, and that these images are included into my gallery as if they were on my website? I've got a 70MB Webspace   which is totally full 65,64 MB (70 MB) and my Moms website   has 80MB of free web space. So i thought if it is possible to lay down the pictures via ftp on my moms website and include them through the batch on my website.

Or is it possible to include a http://www.path in the uploadarea instead only a C:\mydirectory ...
I think there are problems in creating the thumpnails and "middle-size-images" But it would be great to have the big pictures on another website or to define multiple uploadpaths,
e.g. and, or

I hope you understand my request in my bad english
Very Best Regards

this has been requested before, and the short answer is: no!
The long answer is: unless you are a very, very good coder, this is not possible. Get more wbespace, or reduce image sizes (don't upload too big pics in the first place).
