File count question.. Global file count display? - Thanks =)

How can I display the file count a registered user has access to on the main page of the gallery so that people who are not registered can see what they are missing out on by not registering?

Right now when a user is not logged on they see a file count of about 120 or so, but once a user logs on they see 400+ files available. How can I do a global file count and display that on the main page without logging in?
