Stats on Album Listing: 'n_pictures', 'last_added' <- HOW TO ADD 'views'?

Hi!
how can i add the number of views for every album (as statistics)? it would be a very nice and important feature, i think!
no matter how complicated it will be, no prob, give it a try! -> ANY IDEA?!


in languagefile.php there stands only:
$lang_list_albums = array(
  'n_pictures' => '%s pictures',
  'last_added' => 'last update: %s'
);

i would like to add something like that:
 'album_views' => '%s x visited',

...how and where i have to modify/extend index.php, so it would calculate and show the 'album_views' ?

PS: i'm NOT talking about the category statistics (stat1, stat2, stat3). there we have the [views] listed, but i think this ones are rather uninteresting! \
