Config -> File Settings -> Allowed image types

It's funny, I haven't needed to upload a webp image until now and I haven't been able to either. I have followed your advice, I have added the webp type to the allowed images, I have left it like this:

jpeg/jpg/png/gif/webp

But the system responds to me with this nice phrase:

"Camouflage_fabric.webp
No Reason Phrase"

It is not a problem for me, I change it to JPG and the problem is solved, it was just to add that I could not get a webp image either ;)

Server-side software needs to be able to handle the images.

Use phpinfo to check if the feature is enabled for what you are using. (GD or ImageMajick)

Looking at my phpinfo, it seems that everything is correct. I am attaching screenshots of phpinfo, in addition to my CPG settings.

I can confirm that behavior. Will try to take a look in the next days.

Ok, thank you very much for the work, it's not really important to me, but if another user needs it, it will be good to study the problem.

By the way, I have PHP Version 8.1.11 installed on my hosting

Hi - has there been any investigation on this? I also cannot upload .WEBP files to my gallery, even if I added the filetype to the "Allowed image types" option under File Settings.

Running PHP version 8.1.14, and using GD.

You will need to use the File Types Editor plugin to add 'webp' as a valid file type.
The lack of more clear error information that was experienced during the upload will be corrected in CPG 1.6.22
