I have a new 1.6.08 installation of Coppermine.  Love it - well, love most of it.   ;)

I've a problem uploading some files.  I have done the various uploading troubleshooting steps, and am now trying simple uploading one file at a time.  When I do, I get this message

While executing query 'SELECT category FROM xp8o_albums WHERE aid='10'' in uniload.php on line 369

database error: 2006 : MySQL server has gone away

Note that the aid value varies from time to time.

I have set the max upload size to 40 MB (way bigger than the pic sizes) and lengthened the various timeout values.

Any ideas what might be causing this, and how to solve?

Many tks

David.

Have you managed to upload anything? What type of file were you trying to upload? Are you self hosting?

Please follow the guide here and answer the questions above https://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/upload_troubleshooting.htm

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Hi, Phill

Yes, have managed to upload most of the files.  They are primarily jpg files.  No, I'm using Hostinger to host.

And, yes, have followed the guide you link to.  :)

Many thanks for any further insight you can assist with

David.

Check the output for Phpinfo to see whether max_execution_time or max_input_time are set too short.
