Thumbnails show and then not
« on: January 27, 2020, 10:12:32 pm »

Hello there

I have been using coppermine since 2005.

I upgraded to 1.6x and since then, in most cases, the thumbnails on the index page ( categories ), albums etc. load sometimes in full, sometimes its just the name of the thumbnail.

Any ideas why this happen ?

Any help will be appreciated.

You are getting a lot of database query errors (logs/database.log.php). I would have to assume that there may be a connection to the missing thumbnails. You might try disabling the maskurl plugin temporarily to see whether that makes a difference (no database errors and thumbnails display consistently).

Thanx Ron, I will try that ... Will give feedback.

Thing is I do need the masked URL plugin as so many people "steal" photos from my site.

Any suggestions on how we can fixed / update the masked url plugin perhaps ?

Regards

Johann

If it turns out that the maskurl plugin is causing problems, I have another image protection plugin that you can try.

Hi Ron

That would be great.

I actually changed from the MD5 encryption mode to normal ... it helped, but some customers still complain ...

Please share if you don't mind.

BTW, your a star !

Regards

Jo

A day or 2 ago (when I could still examine your site) I also noticed that you are running PHP 7.0.  You might want to consider upgrading to 7.1 (at least).
And the cause of the database query errors will need to be resolved.

hi Ron

I can set the php to 7.1 ... no probs ... but will the current installation andle it ? I will change it in the meantime and grant you access to "your fil***mgr.php.

Like I mentioned, I got nuked, stolen, hacked (whatever) because of my content ...

Anyway, I will re-initiate your file (like before) to look through ...

Altough, I must admit that it looks and works better since i change settings in the "masked url ..."

Let me know please ... and you remains a start PLUS 10000000000 xtimes

:-)

I'm glad that the Lazy Load Plugin helped with the thumbnail display issue. ;)
