Feeding pics from Coppermine to mambo CMS pages?
« on: July 14, 2004, 08:20:38 pm »

I posted this feature request over at mambo, thought I'd share with coppermine people as well:

Hi,

We just added another section at our website:
www.defencetalk.com/wdb < which is using mambo CMS.

We are also running coppermine gallery software at:
www.defencetalk.com/pictures

Anyway to extract/feed pictures from gallery into the mambo content pages?

For example:

Say in the gallery we have album id 16 for F-18 fighter jets and we have an article on F-18 on the mambo CMS. Anyway to extract F-18 images from say albumid=18 and it publishes some thumbnails from that album over to F-18 article plus link the album for "MORE" pics/thumbnails?

I see coppermine component is under development... any idea when it might come out?
Please help.

Thanks!

Although I haven't been in contact with the person that's developing the Coppermine component for Mambo, I'm testing said integration.

Have a look at this thread:
http://forum.mamboserver.com/showthread.php?t=29

They may blast you for not searching first. ;)

Anyway, I don't know how in depth the component he's developing is going to be. However, whatever he does I'll add to it and resubmit it. Don't look for this to happen too soon though. All that being said, don't fret, there is a Mambo bridge file available. You can get it from the 1.4 (devel) CVS.

Hi Omni,

I did look into that and search their board... since I couldnt find the "right" answer. I thought I'd post my own issue maybe someone making the bridge can get an idea of what else to include.

THANKS

Btw, what does that bridge file accomplish? Just the user integration? What if I have phpbb integrated with coppermine?

I am more interested in inserting/feeding pictures into the content rather than users... as the section using the mambo will be open for all so no users will be registering there.  ???

OTH, I could use Gaugua's SSI mod to include pics on mambo CMS.

For example, say an info on F-16 is published and I want to insert some pics from the gallery which has F-16 Album ID 44. That works out all good and wonderful as long as the user stays on that F-16 article. As soon as he goes on to other pages and articles, he sees same pictures of F-16 from Album ID 45 as well.  :-\\ :-\\

Since the ssi include has to go in either mainbody.php or index.php of mambo!  :(
