Blank page on debug mode
« on: November 25, 2017, 02:39:39 am »

I have just moved my coppermine gallery to a new host, it has resulted in a white page with nothing to go on. I have manually turned on debug mode through PHPMyAdmin. Can anyone advise me on what to try please? It's in the /photos directory. I have the newest version.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry - Forgot to mention something. This was a problem before upgrading Coppermine on the new server, I thought it was best to update in case that was the problem. The install.php doesn't run, it's still just a white page.

Sounds like something on your server is not configured correctly. What you will need to do is either look at the servers error logs, or setup your server to display errors. What is happening is something is crashing when coppermine runs. The server for security reasons is instead of displaying the error, just showing a blank page and logging the error instead. To advise we would need to know what that error is. Most hosts provide a way to display those errors sometimes via a setting in their cPanel or via the PHP.ini file. Some do not allow this and you need to ask them.

*And by install.php, I mean, update.php but I'm sure you picked that up anyway.

Thank you for your advice, I have contacted my host about it. I hope this isn't a huge problem to fix.

Have you followed the moving docs? http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/export.htm#moving_server

Most important step is to update the database credentials in include/config.inc.php.
