Have a closer look at {CAPTION} (it occurs several times). This is how you add custom content. Alternatively, you could use the plugin hook theme_display_thumbnails_params to modify the whole $params array.

I'm quite sure I've seen the dimension details below thumbnails in a user gallery, unfortunately I haven't found it currently. Maybe there already exists a plugin or mod, but I haven't searched for it in the boards.
