Will Coopermine work for me?
« on: March 16, 2015, 04:54:34 am »

Hi all, first post here. I really think this fit better at general discussion forum, but it wouldn't allow me to post there.

Just had a major disaster with my server and lost a lot of my data including most of my GalleryProject (Menalto) photos and need to start from scratch. I am looking for an alternative and read good things about CPG.

The last 4 days have been terrible, with my site shut down and working around the clock, so I really appreciate any help here.

Here is what I am looking for:

- SEO friendly URLs
- Be able to display selected pictures as a slide show or mini gallery outside of CPG pages, for example on my website homepage. I used to do that with Menalto Gallery but was a flash plugin.
- Brazilian Portuguese localization files

The 2nd line above is really crucial, as I have all this pages about ski resorts where I used to run a slideshow with selected pictures based on keywords. Those pages were outside of Gallery (Menalto) pages.

Thank you so much

Have you searched the forum at all?

Look for things like SEF plugin (search engine friendly URLs) and CPMfetch (external access to Coppermine images).
You can create localization files for any language that you want.

You will likely have to do the work of putting together a test installation for yourself and then make the decision whether it meets your needs.
