admin cannot log in.

I have the latest version installed.
I had the settings to "new users register with user name", I changed it to register with email address and logged out, now I cannot log back in, it says user does not exist when I try logging in with email or user name.

Use phpMyAdmin through your hosting control panel to:

  • Make a backup of your db
  • Undo your changes, find the row login_method and change it to username.

In the future, please,

  • Post a link to your Coppermine
  • Try the Search function on this site

I'm on a tablet, and need to make it short here.

It is your Coppermine database (db), that resides on your Webhost's server that you need to change. And backup too.

The tool to do it easily is phpMyAdmin, which needs to be run from that server so that it can access the DB. Usually, most hosts have a way to run it through the users' control panel.

If you are in too deep (and don't have backups in your possession), ask your host for help.

You're welcome + thanks for marking this as solved.

And, for all current and future readers - bad things can happen to a database - maintain backups.
