where does *my gallery* catalog come from?
« on: February 14, 2014, 05:09:32 pm »

I am in the process of upgrading coppermine from 1.5.16 and as part of the process I am setting up a test environment to mimic the production copy.  The set up is currently bridged to a phpbb forum.  Now both the test and production environments are working fine except for one small glitch in the test environment.  It has to do with the way user uploads automatically show up in a category 'User galleries'.  One difference which I think is causing the problem is that in the production environment there is a * My gallery * category shown for example at the top of the album manager.  Where does this * My gallery * option come from?

"My gallery" corresponds to the user category in the "User galleries" category. You can determine in the groups manager for each group if they're allowed to create albums in that category. However, that feature already worked that way in cpg1.4.x and even in earlier released I cannot remember.

One additional tip is that you can disable your users from creating user albums by going to Users > Groups and then ensuring that Registered Users and Guests are not allowed to create in the Personal Gallery.

This will help ensure that User galleries remain empty.
