I would greatly appreciate some help I am having where I cannot get my images to sort properly in a preferred order in my album.  I could not find any articles addressing this so apologies in advance if there is a solution already in the forums that I have not found.

I have ver. 1.5.8.
I have made reattempts interfacing with IE, Chrome and Firefox

steps taken:
I go to "sort my pictures" and then drag and drop a picture using the crossed arrow control, placing the images into the order I prefer.
I go to the bottom and then click the apply changes button
I confirm by clicking ok on the "really perform the modifications" pop up.

Results:
the info text at the top confirms what pictures have been moved to what positions, it seems correct.
Reviewing the sort order under the "sort my pictures" section shows the pictures in the correct order
HOWEVER:  upon veiwing the gallery itself, nothing has changed.

Other things to note:
tried different pictures, different sorts
updated the database
This is a fresh install with only one album.

Change the default search order to 'Postion ascending', then clear your cookies and try again.

When I click the sort buttons above those thumbnails the sort order definitely changes. What exactly doesn't work as expected in your opinion?

I thougt sort my pictures allows me to move an image where I want (ex:red car to show firts in the album thumbs page)

That's exactly how it is supposed to work and also works in my testbed (just tested 1 minute ago).

Sorry.I enabled development mode but it looks like it needs time to work.

You should have read my first reply, as it doesn't take time, but needs some configuration and browser adjustment. Keep in mind that your users can overwrite their preferred sort order by using the small arrows on the thumbnail pages. That sort order is stored in a cookie and will be applied to all other albums in the gallery. That's why you need to clear your cookies after changing the default sort order.
