Members appear to be logged on as other membs
« on: January 19, 2013, 10:31:44 am »

Hi there and thank you for a great piece of software.

I have just installed cpg1.5 and everything works perfectly including the bridge to SMF 2.0.3.
I am however experiencing a very strange problem, this happened both before and after the bridge.

Problem:
Online users in the gallery jump between the profile names of those who are online in the gallery.
For example: It shows 'Logout [Member1]', which is correct for that profile but when Member1 changes page the menu line shows a random online member eg. 'Logout [Member3]', member1 cannot upload a photo to member3's album, if he tries he gets a 'token error'
Pressing 'CTRL+F5' gets the user back to his own profile.

I have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out why this is happening, I have had no luck.
I would greatly appreciate some advice as to what to do about this.
I have no problem with editing PHP templates.

If it would help I can make a temporary login so the phenomenon can be seen first hand.

Using:
Theme: curve_dark (I have the same problem with the default curve theme)

Plugins: External Edit (external_edit): v2.5 - LightBox NotesFor.net (lightbox_notes_for_net): v3.2
I have tested with out the plugins, same problem.

PHP Safe mode off

Thank you.

Make sure it's no browser cache issue. Additionally, is there a way to reproduce it without fail? Please post a link to your gallery and a test user account.

Hi Andre, I don't think it's a browser cache issue as it happens to everyone.
There have to other members in the gallery at the same time as you for the error to happen.

The website has only been open for a week and we only have members from Denmark
so it is best to go there during the day.

I assume your server caches your websites. If I get a page with wrong user info (e.g. at http://fototalk.dk/ftgalleri/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=88 there's currently displayed "Hamish McTorsk" as user name) and add a random parameter like "test" to the URL, the page loads with the correct user info. I was able to reproduce it and it's even easier to see if you try to refresh the lasthits meta album while viewing random pictures: http://fototalk.dk/ftgalleri/thumbnails.php?album=lasthits

Thank you for taking the time.

I now believe that the problem lies with my server, I cant see in my CP whether or not my server
caches the website, I will contact them and see what happens.

I will report back here when I find the cause.

Thanks again.

Problem solved by adding this to the .htaccess file.
Code: [Select]
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule (.*) - [L,E=Cache-Control:no-cache]

Thanks for taking the time Andre, your question about my server cache put me on the right track.
