MySQL optimisation
« on: November 23, 2012, 05:59:10 pm »

Hello folks. I've hunted around for info on this but the response is always: search the board for "MySQL said: Too many connections"

I do that and it brings up the threads where the answer is search the board for "MySQL said: Too many connections"  :o

My problem is that I have a Coppermine board with user uploads that was working alright until my traffic went through the roof. Now the site hammers the MySQL server until it falls over, taking 30+ other sites with it (all on the same VPS).

Can someone point me at information to help me rein in the site, please? Assuming there is some. :)

No well setup server should crash because of too many connections. Tell your host to look into it, they should be able to make the required adjustments. If not find a host or hosting package that can deal with your load.
