« on: October 23, 2012, 05:13:20 pm »

I'm about to go stir crazy!! Can anyone tell me where I can find the MySQL details to install my gallery? I've never used Coppermine before so I'll need it in laymans terms! lol

Thanks

I'm assuming you've already created a database?  If so, then you must have the database server path (usually 'localhost'), your MySQL username, MySQL password, and MySQL database name you created it with.  If not, then you need to create a database first.

See this here, http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/install.htm#how_database_info

And if you've not already read it, the install docs can be found here, http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/install.htm

I did read those docs first, which just confused me even more and lead to me posting on here. It says to create my own database but I genuinely don't know how to do that. I have no experience with coding or databases at all! I'm really sorry if this sounds like a dumb request but I really am a rookie! lol

Thanks

Contact your host for help setting up a database.
If no database exists for your website, you will need to create one, or have one created for you by your webhost. Your webhost can best provide you with instructions on how to go about doing this.
