Forgot admin details and need to disable bridging
« on: October 06, 2012, 06:55:35 pm »

Hi :)

Basically erm, I need to disable the bridging with MyBB but I've forgotten my admin details. At the moment the gallery is not working due to the bridging being broken (I moved the location of the forum).

I could possibly copy the forum back to fix the gallery if that helps.

What should I do?

Elwave :)

You can use this to disable bridging

http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/bridging.htm#bridge_manager_recover_start

To find reset your admin password you would need to use a tool such as phpmyadmin to esid the cpg users table. In there look for a user with the id of 1. In the password column you would see a string of numbers and letters. That is an md5 encrypted string that is your password. There are plenty of free online md5 encryption tools. Simply generate a new md5 string using that and place it into the table. Before you do any of that you must backup your database just in case anything goes wrong.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Thank you, I actually hunted threads and did that in the end.

I changed the password in the DB, then fixed the bridging and it all works!

Thanks again! ^^
