Gallery Keeps Getting Errors
« on: July 25, 2012, 05:53:34 am »

I have had to install the software 3 times on 2 of my clients sites
Here is one  http://www.denverpinstriping.com/gallery/index.php

Then after a day or 2 it quits working and this message appears

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in /home/content/89/7296889/html/gallery/index.php on line 452

I have to then login via typing the admin.php and reinstall again and it works fine
Then it goes down again ???

What is going on with that, I followed the update feature etc

If there's a syntax error in index.php, the file has been edited. Coppermine doesn't do that, so it has been edited manually or by a script.

As I said, Coppermine doesn't change its files, so it's something external. Check the logs and/or ask your hosting provider for support, why that file gets changed frequently. When it happens next time, download the corrupted index.php file and attach it to your next reply, maybe we can find something suspicious. Then, replace just that file with a fresh copy from the Coppermine package to check if it's the only file which is affected. Have a close look at the error messages, even if they appear identical at first glance.

I have to then login via typing the admin.php and reinstall again and it works fine
Please elaborate. I don't know how it should be possible to fix the error message by doing something with admin.php.
