New Album Button Not Working
« on: June 11, 2012, 09:05:39 pm »

Hello

I have been using Coppermine for a number of years with no issues until recently. I have not changed themes / settings / folder permissions etc recently but a problem has developed where the "New album" button no longer works within the album manager.

I am using the 'curve' theme with no modifications and plugins disabled.

I enabled debugging mode but the only message that is displayed is as per below, I don't know if this is significant or not.

Notices
/albmgr.php
•Notice line 60: Undefined variable: groups

I was using version 1.5.12 but updated to 1.5.20 today but the problem remains the same with this version.

I can upload photos to existing albums and leave comments with no issues.

An extract from the user data from the debug info is below, this shows I am an admin but I have noticed [can_create_albums] is set to zero (?) is this preventing me from creating an album, if so how would I amend that option?

USER DATA:
------------------
Array
(
    [user_id] => 1
    [user_name] => james
    [groups] => Array
        (

  • => 1

        )

    [disk_max] => 0
    [disk_min] => 0
    [can_rate_pictures] => 1
    [can_send_ecards] => 1
    [can_post_comments] => 1
    [can_upload_pictures] => 1
    [can_create_albums] => 0
    [has_admin_access] => 1
    [access_level] => 3

Many thanks for any help that you can provide

James

Please post a link to your Coppermine in the future - it helps for troubleshooting.

What you see will depend on your settings are in groupmgr.php (Groups tab).

Look in the column Personal gallery, if the setting is Allowed = No, then you will see the Config value change to 1. You will then be able to create albums.

Hello

Thank you for the response, in group manager public albums and personal galley I have set the options to allowed = yes, approval = no

Personal gallery was previously set to no which is strange because I am the only admin on the gallery and I have not changed this option since I set the gallery up well over a year ago and I am only recently experiancing this problem

gallery can be accessed by : http://photos dot ellardsite dot co dot uk

username: test
password: 12062012

the test user is a member of the test group I have just created and also set the options to allowed = yes, approval = no - allowed

Many thanks for your help

Hello

Just tried in Firefox and I am able to create albums with no problems.

I guess this points to a problem with Internet Explorer (or at least my installation / setup - I am using 9.0.8112.16421)

Should I mark this as solved ?

Thanks

James

"Confirmed, but not surprised."
Typically, browser specific issues aren't supported, but a work-around is to set Page >> Compatibility settings with your site in the list. (IE9)

Should I mark this as solved ?
Please, thanks for replying with what you found.
