Image Quality Changes
« on: May 18, 2012, 12:44:36 pm »

For some reason, I've only noticed this today but the Image Quality on my photos changes slightly. It's not a massive difference but it's quite annoying.

Example: http://kellyimgs.org/displayimage.php?album=1741&pid=84221#top_display_media

All the images seem to be like this now, I was going through old photos which have watermarks on (Placed on by myself and coppermine) and the watermark shows its not the quality it should be. Any ideas on how to fix this?

My Quality for JPEG files: 100% and I use GD Version 2

its a jpeg, and its quality is limited as its compression is fairly huge..no matter what you try with its 100% thingy,,,its a .jpeg, and quality will be reduced significantly.

try saving it as a .tiff, or other less compressed format.
295px × 400px is not very large image...
also, if your camera is taking these pix in a small resolution, you will have even less to keep.
heres my 1 megapixel camera on its highest setting image..just to compare the resolution here..
try this link for my really old camera using jpeg @90% quality...its all about resolution
