thumbnails for albums in the user gallery on Home page

I read in another thread that 1.3 beta had a feature to show album thumbnails on the home page for albums in the user gallery.  Is that documented somewhere in the forum or in the docs that I've just missed now that 1.3 is released?

as far as I can see you already got an answer to this on the other thread you started:
