Cropping Thumbails
« on: February 24, 2012, 04:26:11 am »

Hi,

We've just upgraded our gallery to 1.5 and having some troubles cropping our thumbnails. We've been using Stramm up until as we've been on 1.4 which would higlight the area in the thumbnail size we've chosen. 1.5 we read has the cropping tool in it now, but when we go to it, it does not highlight the area to the size of our thumbnails. When we move the little corner things around to select the area it does not create our new thumbnail in the size we have the gallery set to as exact.  :-\ I've tried updating the thumbs but it just reset it back to the original thumbnails which is feet....are we doing something wrong?

Here's a link to the gallery and a particular album: http://www.star-kidz.net/imagearchive/thumbnails.php?album=7994 We use two of the thumbnails to make the updates and I have one face and two feet pictures...hard to update with that. Since its been suggested to me in previous problems with various sites galleries. All our thumbnails are set to exact, and we need them on exact to keep the gallery organized. It looks neater and these sites need to remain unified, mix matched sizes takes away from that and we get complaints. Also as stated above, we use thumbnails for updates so two different sizes makes the update awkward looking.

Thanks for any help :)

I also forgot to add that everytime we do crop and save an image as a thumbnail it goes blurry.

Another thing I've tried, when I do attempt cropping and it appears the same size thumbnail in the gallery, and use it for updates, the sizing is off between the photos.

It seems that the feature you describe (display a movable rectangle with the thumbnail dimensions) hasn't been included to the cpg1.5.x core code.
