Images do not display
« on: January 22, 2012, 05:28:46 am »

I have everything fine tuned but images and the thumbs do not display. It worked though before upgrading to 1.5.18.

Seems that you deleted your albums directory during the update. Restore it from the backup and everything should work as expected.

No. All the images are in place. (albums/userpics/10001/).
Here's what I did.
1. I did a clean install in a new folder.
2. Created a fresh database.
3. Imported all the MySQL data to the database that I had backed up.
4. Only copied the 10001 folder (containing images) from the old gallery to userpics in the albums of the new installation.
(I had copied entire album folder in an earlier effort but that did not work either.)
But no use. The gallery that was once shining, now not even showing up.

Any idea.

That's not the recommended update procedure. However, please try to open any of your images and you'll get that message:
Quote from: 403 Forbidden
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /gallery/albums/userpics/10001/xyz.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

As you can see, it's not possible to access your pictures from the web, so your issue isn't related to Coppermine in the first place. Please check the permissions on server side level (e.g. in an htaccess file) or ask your hosting provider for support.

Thanks Andre. I did check permissions on almost every folder and file but I somehow overlooked the 10001 folder. It was permissions problem. Now the gallery is in full swing.

Thanks for the help.

My update procedure worked somehow and as you said, this is not recommended. Then how to upgrade? Can you specify in few simple steps? Thanks.
