'orig' files after uploading
« on: January 07, 2012, 05:46:47 pm »

Hi,

These 'orig_(number)' files keep showing up after I have added photos to my gallery. Does anyone know what purpose these files have?

I see they are the same as the actual photo uploaded, I'm just wondering if I can delete these because they are taking up quite some space.

Those files are created if watermarking is enabled in config. They are needed to remove the watermark at a later time. If you want to remove that files you can use the admin tools, option "Delete original image backup for watermarked images".

Thank you for your reply.

The files are probably from a period that I accidentally left the watermarking enabled, cause not every folder has those files. But now it makes more sense, thanks!
