Gallery Structure advice
« on: June 26, 2004, 01:38:57 pm »

Hello, I was looking for advice on how to structure my albums and categories to get what I want from Coppermine.

Quick overview is that members are to take photos of their home city/town - one photo for each letter of the alphabet.

I would, therefore, like for someone to be able to view all photos in, for example, London. All photos that are taken for the letter A, or B, etc, and also all photos taken by an individual.

Is it possible to have one photo in three categories/albums with one upload?

Many thanks

alrighty, in which case I think 26 albums named A-Z would possibly be best.

Therefore, I was going to add an additional name field of 'town/city' so that users can state where the image was taken.

Unfortunately this does not allow you to search for all images for the city, such as the 'keywords' feature allows you to.

Any suggestions how to get around this?

(as before, I'm just looking for ideas on how to best structure this for ease of use by the members and am open to any thoughts)
