URL upload / copy to gallery
« on: June 25, 2011, 09:17:58 am »

I know the URI upload was discontinued a long time ago.

Has anyone made a plugin that makes this possible again?

It does come in handy when surfing around the web and you see an image you would like in your gallery... you don't even have to download it - just paste the URL into coppermine and there it is!

I don't think so.  Maybe have a read here, you might get a better idea why this feature was dropped.  http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,64001.0.html

Thanks for the response!

I do understand the reasons why it was dropped, but I really liked the function.
I guess it may be time to try and put my own plugin together!

I have a good transload class, but something tells me I won't need it... I think all the functionality to copy from a URL may already be in Coppermine. It's going to be an adventure I'm sure :)

Thanks again!

Hopefully you've access to that board,
Please read http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,64556.0.html - maybe you can use the 'bug'.

Thanks guys,

Yeah I've tried that method and was able to get it working once. I would like to implement something which uses php's copy or fopen commands. Trying to figure out coppermine's API will be the challenge!

Thanks again!
