Hi all !  ;D

First of all, sorry for my poor english... I'm french, and I don't use english everyday, so...

I use the Social Sharing plugin on my Coppermine Gallery, and I have to admit it's a great job!!! I use this plugin to :

  • Facebook Like Button : add a button "Like" linked with my Facebook profile
  • Facebook Comments Box : add a box "Comments" linked with my FB

I'm having an issue with the "Like Button" and the configuration of Coppermine.

Indeed, I don't want "no registered users" to be able to see my pictures. So in the "Configuration" > Users parameters > Allow unlogged access", I chose "Thumbnails Only".
When I use the Like Button on my Coppermine Gallery with this configuration, a comment appears in my FB profile, but not the thumbnail...

And when I change parameter in Coppermine configuration to "Thumbnails and intermediate pictures", the thumbnail appears on my FB profile.

I know this behaviour is normal, because Facebook can't access to the picture page... But is there a way to do as if FB was a registered user, so that it can access to the picture ?

I want my gallery to remain private, but I find the "FB Like" feature very useful to share photos with my friends....

Anybody can help?

Sorry, I forgot to complete my title!!!!

If a moderator see it, he would be nice to add : "[Plugin Social Sharing] - Like button and thumbnail in Facebook profile"

Thank you!

Not if you choose the "thumbnail only" option in the Coppermine parameters

I guess that the plugin button adds a link to the intermediate view in Coppermine to your Facebook wall. If so, it should be possible to add a parameter to that url that tells Coppermine, that this guest shall be able to access the intermediate view. We have to modify the plugin and the Coppermine code, but this will also allow everybody who knows that parameter to access all of your intermediate pages.

Yes I'm aware of that. But the goal is not to make my website the FBI or CIA website (I mean a high level security site). Mask intermediate images is just a basic protection for anybody to access my photos.

If a hacker wants to access my images, I have nothing to hide, it's just photos of my family and holidays, so not very interesting !
