Pre Install Question
« on: January 29, 2011, 10:28:50 pm »

Don't know if this belongs here, it's a 'before I install this, will this do what I hope it does or am I going to have to approach this differently' sort of question. I'm a Windows user, a friend hosts a website for me where friends can come and share pictures. But as it is set up now it's just directories. Can Coppermine use the existing images on the web server or do I have to delete all the images and have everyone reupload them?

You can use the batch add feature. After you have installed Coppermine simply use your ftp app to move the images inside the Albums folder of coppermine as per the instructions here - http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/uploading_batch-add.htm

Most good ftp apps such as filezilla or winscp allow you to move files on your remote server with just a couple of clicks.
