Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class cpg_udb
« on: January 24, 2011, 12:27:26 am »

From my previous post I could not for the life of me get the upgrade going.  Today I tried again.  This time I was able to upgrade to 1.5.2 without any problems, except when I got to the bridge steps for my SMF 2.0 forum.  Whether I choose to set up bridging in groups or not I get this message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class cpg_udb in /home/mysite/public_html/avalanchestyle.com/cpg143/bridge/smf20.inc.php on line 37

I searched the boards here and only found on suggestion to delete the php file.  That didn't help because the only option for bridging that was left was for SMF version1.

I'd appreciate any help.

My gallery is at http://www.avalanchestyle.com/cpg143/index.php.

I can create a test account for any admin here has the time to check out my settings.

Thanks,
Rolando

Please try to replace the file bridge/smf20.inc.php. It seems that it has been corrupted during upload.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I tried that and I got the same error message.

I re-downloaded the entire package and pulled  new smf20.inc.php file and I got the same error message, same line.

Please try if it works when you use the curve theme: http://www.avalanchestyle.com/cpg143/index.php?theme=curve

It didn't work either.  I tried to clear my cache and cookies, then try with the curve theme.  I got one step ahead more where it asked if I wanted to enable or disable bridging, then when I clicked ok.  I got the same error message.

Make sure that you have replaced all cpg1.4.x files. It seems that your gallery is empty (or do you have disabled the display for guests?). If it's empty I'd suggest to install a fresh version of cpg1.5.12.

Thanks Αndré I just upload fresh 1.5.12 files.  Did a version check and everything is up-to-date.  The gallery is empty because I wanted to start from scratch.  I still have my old photos there.  I will do a batch file update once I get this issue resolved.

My issue is not resolved, however, I found a work-around.

After I used the bridge manager and got the error I went directly to the User's tab and noticed that the groups that are in my forum showed up as if the bridge did work.  I then used the batch feature to import all my photos and it looks like I am up and running again.

I'm not sure what problem I may have in the future because of this isssue, but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Did you clear everything out, all files except the albums folder, include/config.inc.php, anycontent.php and your custom theme before upgrading? I've seen instances similar where some old files have been left behind.

No I did not.  I basically overwrote all the existing files.  When I did a version check, all the files were the newest version.

Sometimes files can get left behind and cause problems. It might be worth you having a clearout. I had the same problem on a gallery I upgraded for someone last week and that was the cause of the problem.

Thanks Phill.  I'll double check my files, thank you.
