Incorrect number of users

I am using Coppermine and have it bridged with my PHPBB forum. In my forum I have 168 registered users and in the gallery I have 228 registered users. Is there a way to clean this up? Thanks!

Do you have some unapproved/banned members in your board? Maybe phpBB ignores them while counting but Coppermine counts all users?

no banned or unapproved members, we had this issue from day one before we went live.

Can you please have a look at your board's users table? How many users are listed there?
