Gallery Outside of Coppermine Directory Structure?
« on: November 23, 2010, 02:35:00 pm »

Hello, I've got a folder/directory on my computer which holds about 500 images.  These images are linked on literally hundreds of web pages and therefore cannot be moved without destroying web page links.

I'd like to include them as an album in Coppermine, but near as I can tell, everything needs to be present in the 'albums' directory.

Any alternatives?

TIA

You could use a symlink (search the board for previous discussions) or a redirect so the old links still work.

You have 4 possibilities imo:
- move the files and use a htaccess redirection for the old paths
- copy the images to the albums directory
- use a symlink to show that files in your albums directory
- adjust the config value for the albums directory

Thank you, Andre.  I ended up using a symlink for the directory in which the images are contained so I ended up with /albums/simlinktoolddir
